Winter-Skin-Care-Essentials

Here in Minneapolis it has become a winter wonderland, and it is cold and snowy.  Truthfully I don’t mind snow this time of year, but I can’t say that my skin feels the same.  Cold weather strips your skin of moisture, and nobody likes that “wind burn” look.  Plus, your hair can get all dry and brittleyikes.  Here are a few of the products that have been essential to combat the cold.

  1. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream – If you guys get one thing to help your skin, pick THIS!  For anyone with eczema or just dry skin this is going to be your saving grace.  With oatmeal, shea butter and eucalyptus oil this has been a game changer for my skin, and it’s perfect for those blustery days.
  2. Dove Shea Butter & Warm Vanilla Nourishing Body Wash – Regardless of how much I spend on a body wash, when it comes to moisture you just can’t beat Dove.  This stuff smells heavenly, and leaves your skin feeling hydrated {without a greasy residue}.  Run, don’t walk, to your nearest drugstore and pick this up!
  3. Coconut Oil – Duh, guys.  Coconut oil is the ultimate when it comes to hydrating your skin, nails, hair, whatever.   My favorite way to use coconut oil in the winter is as a DIY hair mask!  Slather on enough coconut oil to thoroughly coat your entire head of hair, and then leave it on for at least 30 minutes {sometimes I leave it on overnight if my hair needs some extra lovin’}.  Voilà – fabulously hydrated hair!
  4. Fresh Rose Face Mask – So, my mom got a sample of this mask and gave it to me.  Let’s just say she didn’t know what she was giving up!  If you are looking for a way to treat your skin, this is the way to go.  This mask not only has rose oil, it also has cucumber extract, aloe vera and green tea to help soothe, hydrate and restore radiance.  I’m obsessed.
  5. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy – If you are anything like me, my lips are the first place that shows any sign of dehydration.  Dry, chapped lips are not cute friends.  This is my absolute fave lip balm, and the best part about F.A.B. products is that they don’t have any gross ingredients.  Think it can’t get any better?  There is a special where you can get the best First Aid Beauty products, now being offered as a special holiday set for only $30. Snatch it up while you can!

What are your essentials to beat the cold weather?  Let me know!  P.S. – The Curly Diaries is now on Facebook!  Be sure to “like” the page so you never have to miss out on more fun and fabulous tips!
