Honeycrisp Apple Cocktail

July 14, 2015

IMG_0180I was so excited when the ladies from 5 O’Clock Fashionistas asked me to represent the fabulous state of Minnesota in their “Coaster 2 Coaster” series {how adorable is that?!}, and of course I said yes!  Obviously I am not a mixologist, so the pressure was on to create a delicious boozy beverage that incorporated Minnesota.  Harder than it sounds!  After lots of deliberation {and a few too many Google searches ;) } I decided to craft up a yummy cocktail that would taste like a honeycrisp apple!

Did you know that the honeycrisp apple was created at the University of Minnesota?!  And only a few years ago it was petitioned to become the state fruit – and it won!  I am a huge fan of the sweet and crunchy apple, so through some trial and error I created a recipe that is easy, delicious and perfect for summer!

Wanna see the full recipe?!  Hop on over to my feature on 5 O’Clock Fashionistas to learn how to make this sweet & tangy honeycrisp apple cocktail – you won’t be disappointed!

Patriotic Strawberries

July 1, 2015

patriotic-strawberriesWhen I was thinking about what to make as a Fourth of July treat, I knew I had to incorporate some sprinkles!  I figured something quick and easiest would be the best so I can get back to festivities, and these beautiful fresh strawberries were calling my name!  These white chocolate, sprinkle covered patriotic strawberries are festive, adorable and oh so delicious!  Plus, they’re so easy to make and only require three ingredients!

  • Strawberries
  • White Chocolate
  • Blue Sprinkles or Blue Sugar

These are so easy to make that I almost feel silly writing out the instructions!  Wash and dry your strawberries, and melt the white chocolate in the microwave or stove.  Fill a bowl with your sprinkles so they are ready for dipping.  Take your strawberries and dip them 2/3 of the way into the melted chocolate, then dip the bottom 1/3 into your blue sprinkles.  Lay them out on waxed paper and allow to dry {or place in the fridge for storage}.  Voila!  They are so easy, delicious and sure to be a hit at your patriotic party!

Healthy Mornings With Naked Juice

June 22, 2015

Wanna know a secret?  I’m really bad about eating breakfast in the morning.  I would much rather sleep for a few extra minutes rather than get up and eat a meal.  BUT eating breakfast is so good for you!  Not only is it the “most important meal of the day,” but it helps jump start your metabolism in the morning and helps prevent overeating at lunch time.  I’ve had to find easy ways to get a healthy breakfast on the go, and Naked Juice has come to the rescue as the perfect healthy addition to my mornings!

My mornings are typically busy and very much on-the-go.  Whether I’m rushing off to work or squeezing in a morning workout, I need something that is healthy, quick and obviously delicious!  Naked Juice is perfect because it has no added sugars or preservatives, and it allows me to get my daily dose of fruit/veggie goodness while still on the go!  I am absolutely obsessed with the Chia Sweet Peach flavor for a yummy snack, the Berry Almond Nutmilk for a dairy-free breakfast and the Proteins & Greens for a post-workout supplement!

I am so excited because Naked Juice was kind enough to offer one reader of The Curly Diaries coupons for 10 full size Naked Juices!  Since Naked Juice is so easily accessible, this is an amazing way to try out Naked Juice for yourself {especially since they have so many new and yummy flavors}.  There are a few ways to enter, so check it out below and be sure to let me know what your favorite on-the-go breakfast is!
